Understanding DOF

I thought that since I brought up the subject of Bokeh, it might be a good time to discuss DOF (depth of field). In the study of the 2 the greatest difference is that Bokeh is the blur in the picture, while DOF is the sharpness. It does go deeper but understanding that has helped me a lot.
